What a day

I am SO glad the weekend is here! My day actually ended with a hairy situation. Had my nails done this morning, then ran some errands and chipped a nail. Usually I fix it myself but could not, so had to go back. The nail salon is inside a hair salon. I was in the other room waiting and heard someone having a conversation about body hair. One woman complained about her customer having hairy legs, because she would not shave them before having some tanning products put on them. The others chimed in how disgusting body hair was, and one (not sure who it was) said she removed all her hair and her husband hates hair. There were a few more comments I could not really hear. When I sat down to have my nail fixed, I told my nail tech I was going to hide my legs and then told her about the conversation she claimed she hadn’t heard. She said she never noticed after I said I didn’t shave my legs, so I told her they weren’t that hairy anyway but I told her I didn’t shave my underarms either.

She looked a little shocked and said she never noticed, and I reminded her I don’t dress to show them off, but the misconception is that women with hair smell and said to her, “gee, it’s 90 degrees today and I’m sweating like a pig and I don’t smell” … she laughed! This is the same salon where one girl made a rude comment about a girl at a coffee shop needing a lot of waxing on her face ………

Oy, it was hot. And, stupid me came home at 5:30, sweaty and tired, and the house was hot as hell. I panicked thinking my central a/c had died but then realized I hadn’t put it on this morning. I’ve been shutting it at night or I freeze, and usually put it on right before I shower. Not sure why I didn’t do it today, but wow was it hot. I put it on and I also have a window a/c in this office because it gets hotter due to the electronics and put this one on high while I showered. Came out to eat a salad I’d bought for dinner and it was beginning to get cool, but it took a while. Stupid, stupid, stupid, I know. This will teach me to remember to turn it on. I may keep it on tonight and all weekend as it’s going to be very, very humid and close to 90 at least through Tuesday night. This is the first year I’ve ever shut it at night but it hasn’t really been warm at night and I’ve slept comfy for the most part.

My big project is on hold, thankfully I didn’t pull down that much, just 6 shelves which I can screw back in, plus the computer equipment. This means I can scan in the rest of Ember’s pictures over the weekend.

Well, saw So You Think You Can Dance last night as I predicted, Musa was voted off. He was a great freestyler and b-boy dancer, but he just could not get the hang of the other dances. Ashley was also voted off, and while she was pretty good, she wasn’t as good as the others. Next week is a 2-hour show and each contestant will dance 3 times, and those that are left are really good … this reminds me of the American Idol finals and the good ones having to be voted off at the end.

Any plans for the weekend?
