The sporting gods and goddesses are surely smiling upon my old hometown. Even the Red Sox are winning by a margin of several touchdowns.

Reminds me of the days not too long ago here in northern California where we had the football magic of Joe Montana along with an A's vs Giants subway world series.

Given the current state of athletics here, it also illustrates how fleeting the success can be. Enjoy the success while it lasts, and send my regards to the Green Monster.

As for that impostor of a Boston Garden, there will never be another like the original, leaky plumbing, obstructed view seats and all, I loved it. Started several memorable hangovers with a few beers and other goodies we sneaked in at the Beanpot finals. No liquor was sold (legally) at NCAA events back then.
