Weekend, yeeha

How was your week? Mine ended on a good note, though this morning was nuts. The rain was coming down SO hard that I had to pull off to the side of the road for 25 minutes. I simply could not see the road, could not see the cars in front of me. It was windy as hell, with thunder and lightning at the same time, too. 30 minutes later it was sunny and bright and the day ended warm, but now it’s raining again.

Went to Dunkin Donuts for my coffee this afternoon on the way toward the Cape today and had my first odd experience. I ordered my iced coffee (decaf, cream, 2 Splenda) and she handed it to me in a plastic cup, as always. I asked for a styrofoam cup to put it into. I do this at all the local ones with no problems. Why? If you don’t, the cup sweats and either it gets water in my car or worse, it’s slippery when I try to pick it up. In another cup it won’t slip. Today they charged me a quarter for the cup. I was so surprised I didn’t even say anything! I have 5 spare cups in my house, should I sell them on eBay? :)

Just saw an awesome concert on TV, shot last month — HEART with various artists like Carrie Underwood, Alice In Chains, Rufus Wainright and Meredith Wilson. Ann Wilson is one of my favorite female singers, next to Debbie Harry, and her voice sounded exactly like it did 30 years ago. It was amazing to hear her sound so good. I’d seen part of this program last week but it was the end, and tonight I saw a good portion of it.

Weekend plans? I plan to do some stuff around the house, have to patch a wall my ex apparently cracked when hanging up a picture. I removed the picture and there was a 6″ crack going down the wall that wasn’t there before the picture went up, and I know that for a fact because the walls had been painted right before the picture went up. So, spackle and spatula in hand, I shall proceed! I also need to find a place to hang up a ceramic fish!

Worried about mom and that’s weighing very heavily on my mind. A friend’s father is very ill and that’s on my mind as well.
