Well, I do feel a lot better, so maybe it was a 12 hour bug. Still not 100% but a whole lot better. Didn’t sleep that well but I think tonight I’ll sleep.
Glad today is election day so it will be over, I am SO sick of the political rhetoric, the slamming ads, etc. At this point all I know is what people didn’t do, not what they’ll do for me.
Our state votes on a few important things, like do we want mandatory fluoride in water (I vote no) and should we allow convenience stores/grocery stores to sell wine. On that one I’m torn — on one hand, it will end the liquor store monopoly but will it put the small liquor stores out of business? I don’t see that many small ones, but I don’t drink so am not that familiar with liquor stores. They say wine now, beer eventually. They say teens hang out at convenience stores so now will get alcohol easier. I say if a kid wants it, he’ll get it no matter what. But supposedly even if the state votes yes, it’s up to each individual community whether to issue liquor licenses. I know I’ve been in the Super Wal-Mart (40 minutes away) and they have a beer and wine section in the store. I think the conveniece factor is nice, but should buying it be convenient? Will they train the store clerks to card properly?
Not easy, huh?
As for fluoride, if I want it, I’ll buy toothpaste with it, thanks. Some studies say too much is poison and I’d rather not worry about the drinking water having fluoride in it. Let the dentists work with the toothpaste industry to provide fluoride toothpaste to lower-income families.
Do you have fluoridated toothpaste in your area?
