Do you live life as your parents did?

Going back to the alcohol subject, my folks didn’t drink and it wasn’t around the house, so I never grew up drinking. Did your folks gamble? Mine didn’t, though I have to admit the lottery wasn’t around in their time. I remember about 20-25 years ago the Mass. State Lottery came into being, and every so often they’d send you a brochure with a coupon for a free lottery scratch ticket, or a free Megabucks ticket, etc. So, I’d use it, but that was it. I didn’t become addicted to it.

I can’t see spending money for nothing in the hopes of winning something. I’ve never been to a bingo game!

I remember working with a woman who spent a ton of money on scratch tickets. She was a smoker, too. Yet, she told us how her son was upset she didn’t give him a quarter every day to buy milk at recess but she said she coudn’t afford it.

I see people who obviously just got their welfare checks at the supermarket lottery desk, buying 20 or 30 or more tickets. It’s really sickening.

Anyway, do you find you lived as your parents did?
