HOT day

Monday, May 29th, 2006

Ugh ugh ugh. I thought they said in the 60’s today, so I dressed in a pair of leggings. Yeah, right. It was in the 80’s! My vehicle has a/c so it’s not that bad, as does my house, but I was still very warm. Then I went to the body shop to visit my car and see how it was doing (still there) and damn, it was so hot there. I don’t know how those guys work in such a hot environment. They had an awesome hot rod there, it looked like one of the ZZ Top cars, you know the ones used in the Legs video? This one was a burgundy color and had a few scratches but was still gorgeous. On the way up there I saw a 1969 Firebird, white with orange stripes and near the post office I saw a 1955 Chevy, turquoise and white.

I found the truck of my dreams. Y’all know I want a truck from the 50’s. It has original paint, a wooden bed, no rust, and is under two grand. Perfect for me. Oh, did I mention it’s in British Columbia??? Friggin’ Moose country!! I have garage space for it, too!! Guess I’ll just keep looking.

American Idol isn’t on tonight so millions of people are going through withdrawal. I saw Taylor Hicks on TV today and I really can’t wait for his album to come out as I will definitely buy it. I wanted to buy Bo Bice’s but so far the reviews aren’t that great, I prefer the Southern singing Bo does, not the pop rock crap.

$100 million dollar car collection

Friday, May 12th, 2006

I have some pictures from a $100 million dollar car collection including 17 Lamborghinis, Ferrari Enzo, Buggati, etc. I grabbed some quickie pics of the Mustangs, Shelby, Firebird, Camaros ….. some of these cars are 1 of 1! I need to get permission to post pictures of the 35,000 square foot heated garage that hosts these cars and the cars … He has a larger collection than Jay Leno.

Got plans for the weekend? My friend Tony wanted me to go up to Maine with him but even with the GTO as an incentive, I said no, maybe in a few weeks. Instead he’ll be coming here and I hope to take him to the classic car museum before it’s sold! I plan to watch some of the TVLand 48 hour Brady Bunch marathon, I have to take apart a website and then put it back together, I need to move some sites to a new host .. plus I found some new sites with hairy women so will be adding their images to Just Hairy Amateurs and Natural Women.

Finally, Kellie is gone

Wednesday, April 26th, 2006

They voted her off American Idol tonight, thankfully. No more dumb blonde Daisy Mae to pick on! They had a few close-ups of Paris’ facial hair, too. Today was a great day made better by her departure!

Did I mention I saw a gorgeous black 1966 Mustang yesterday, headed to the local college? If I weren’t going in the opposite direction I’d have followed him!

Still can’t get that script thing to work right. I may upgrade this site tomrrow with new software, we’ll see. If it happens it will be tomorrow night as I’ll be gone tomrrow during the day.

You know, it’s ironic how our roles become reversed. When I was younger and my toilet had a problem, I’d simply call my father. When I first moved out on my own I was 22 I think, and moved into one of the houses my parents owned. So, instead of a plumber, I’d call dad. I remember one Sunday morning at 8 am waking up and the toilet broke, and I called him and he came right over before he even had breakfast.

For years I’d call him for help with electronics. He’d tell me which input went where, etc, as it would confuse me.

Now, it’s reversed. Mom called me yesterday and asked if I could come over and help dad, he bought a new TV and could not set the clock so he could not use the VCR portion of it. I went over and with one click fixed it, it was so simple. It’s so sad to think that for so many years he knew all of this, and now he has to call and ask for help.

I can’t say no, and even if I’m in the middle of something, I’ll drop it all to take one of them to the store, doctor, etc. You gotta remember how many years they shlepped me everywhere, from the movies, bowling, friend’s houses, etc, without much complaint.

All of a sudden you find you’re the caregiver and you’re no longer a child.

How was this weekend for you?

Sunday, April 23rd, 2006

It was rainy here all weekend, rainy and gloomy. Last night ended the weekend with my toilet overflowing onto my carpeting and yes, the plumber is on his way over, just got out of the shower. I’m not that bummed out because a friend is getting new carpeting and was going to give me a section of hers to put in my bathroom (the color matches) in about a month, so I can live with a slightly stained carpet until then.

Should hear about getting my car back this week and am psyched since there is no rain in the forecast for the end of the week. No matter what I was told, I’m going to baby it and drive just a few miles here and there at first. I need to order new tags but can’t until I can see what ones I’m missing.

Guy won the Next Food Network Star contest, he’s the one I tagged from the beginning to win it. I really did like Reggie but as I said, America won’t vote for a fat black man, it’s sad but true.

Going out later today and can’t wait to see how high gas prices are after the weekend. I had someone tell me not to complain because, after all, it’s cheaper than a gallon of milk. I responded by saying find me a car that runs on milk and I won’t complain.

I played hooky!

Tuesday, April 18th, 2006

Well, just for a few hours, but I’d been working on this new CMS script for a cam site that should be done soon and I was frustrated. I ate lunch but felt like I was going to scream, so decided to get the hell out of the house for a while. I’d already updated Hair To Stay, the food blog, Pam’s Reviews and had done some meta tag research for my new cam site. Usually I go to the beach but I ended up in the other direction and found myself in the back woods of North Dartmouth. I think I was going through missing my car because I ended up at this area I’d been to before that has a Mustang, same year and color as mine, only it’s a convertible with a white ragtop.

Drove around for a while and saw about 20 classic cars including a Chevelle, Cougar that had been restored, and lots of old trucks.

Watched American Idol tonight and I went into the performancs in-depth on the coffee blog, but my vote for the bottom 3 tonight is Ace, Kelly and Katherine with Kelly going home. Even she admitted she butchered the song. Did you notice how hairy Paris is?

Have a doctor appt. on Thursday, I’ve cancelled this 3 times already, it’s with the 3rd surgeon I’m supposed to see. The first wants me to have surgery on my neck. The chiropractor is helping but it’s only temporary. The 2nd agreed that I should not have surgery and should seek alternative methods. Hell, I just don’t want to spend $30k on surgery that may not fix the problem, ya know? I feel like I’ve already spent way too much on tests, and it’s embarassing as hell to have them see the hair in places it shouldn’t be. I’m not sure if I’ll keep this appointment, I guess I’ll know more tomorrow since if I plan to cancel I have to do it tomorrow. I think if I ever see part of my exhaust system on my car I’m going to kick the hell out of it for doing this to me.

Had a weird dream again last night, my ex and I were sleeping in a car at the beach, not touching, and when I looked out the window I saw we were at the beach and saw my favorite house there, but it’s my chiropractor’s house, and she isn’t near the beach. I saw the taffy stand I used to go to as a kid but it’s not at the beach near here nor near my chiropractor …. I need to analyze this one in my dream book, that’s for sure.

Rent A Racer

Thursday, April 13th, 2006

I can only imagine the price of this …. but man oh man, you can bet if they have an automatic model I’ll be at my local Hertz to test drive one .. it would be worth it to rent for a day!

“A new version of the Shelby Hertz GT350H will be unveiled at the New York auto show in April and hit select Hertz car rental facilities around the U.S. this summer.

The Dearborn automaker will produce a limited run of 200 of the vehicles, in black with gold paint stripes, just like the 1960s version.

Ford’s latest retro vehicle harks back to the Shelby Hertz GT350H, which was modified by Carroll Shelby in 1966 and distributed to select Hertz franchises for the rental-car company’s “Rent a Racer” program. The new version borrows from that concept liberally. Ford will build the Mustangs, ship them to Shelby for tweaking and then distribute them to Hertz dealers.

The carmaker told IL that the new version uses a 2006 Mustang GT as a platform and adds new calibration for powertrain controls to give the GT’s 300-horsepower, 4.6-liter V8 a boost of 20 hp, to 320 hp. Other performance enhancements include intake and exhaust tuning.”

Brrrr!

Spring! It’s FREEZING out! I ran to the post office today and froze my ass off! It is cold, windy and just really yucky. Big storm in the midwest which I surely hope doesn’t end up here. The sun is out, though, and I’m seeing more and more older cars out for a ride. There is a really nice blue Nova one town over and I see it parked in a lot, as if the person works nearby. The lot is at an empty building so it’s odd. If I can remember to bring my camera to that area next time I go I’ll grab a pic. Saw a really nice old VW bug this morning and last week saw some nice sightings as well.

Tonight is the season finale of The Shield, a 90 minute episode. I am SO psyched to watch it! I know there are 2 major characters being written out but I am not positive who it will be though I’m speculating a lot! American Idol is also on and I can work when it’s on. I’d like to work on my eBook if possible tonight. I have a few other projects I’m working on so we’ll see what happens.

I figureed if I was going to stay up so late I’d better take a nap, so took a small one this afternoon. I didn’t sleep well last night, or rather could not fall asleep for a while. I think they may not have given me decaf because otherwise I can’t figure it out — I always drop off very fast.

Right now I want to go grocery shopping and grab an iced coffee but it’s so cold I’m putting it off!

Noticed gas was up to $2.45 at one station today — disgusting, isn’t it?

Should have a relaunch of an old site soon to show y’all plus some other stuff I”m redoing. I’m sticking to my resolutions this year and not putting up new sites and am instead just redoing old ones.

Hapy Monday

Monday, March 20th, 2006

How was your weekend? Mine was pretty quiet, considering. I did manage to change curtains and get rid of those ugly-ass curtains my ex wanted. The new ones are a blue microsuede and make the room really dark, which is how I prefer it. Never let a straight man decorate for you!

Took my SUV in today to fix that windshield/dashboard rattle again. Last time they pulled the dashboard to put in foam. Today they had to pull the cowl and put in foam. They said service bulletins advised them to do this. I hope this stops that annoying noise.

I have discovered a new TV network, Spike TV. I saw an awesome show yesterday called Muscle Car, watched them painting a Camaro they’re restoring. I learned so much about paint that I didn’t know about. They’ve been rerunning old Shield episodes, too. And they had this “Shocking Videos” show on last night that was truly shocking

Crazy Day

Friday, February 10th, 2006

So, my hair wasn’t done yesterday. The special color they order for me came in but it was the wrong thing, so my new look is delayed for a bit.

Major storm coming in tomorrow night, 10-15″ of snow due. It’s been pretty warm most of the winter so I can’t complain, but I’m not looking forward to this. Blizzard watch in effect, sheesh. I’m hoping they send my father home from the hospital tomorrow morning and don’t wait until the storm hits.

Heard from the mechanic about my car, the original $1k I was supposed to spend is now closer to $12k and growing. If I sold the car tomorrow I’d take a $10k loss since so much was restored that never had to be restored.

Weekend report

Monday, September 19th, 2005

Mine was pretty good. We went to a car show on the Cape this weekend, where it was really REALLY hot. The heat affects me being so heavy, where it doesn’t affect Joel at all. Plus, let’s face it, I’m not too keen about being out in public like that.

I’m now doubly self-conscious about my weight. Between Joel’s comments about my needing to lose weight, then someone saying, “here comes fatso” (long story, don’t ask), I’m just really needing to lose weight fast. I haven’t slept in a few nights, I just toss and turn, as it’s really bothering me.

I thought I was at an age where my attitude was “fuck it” if they don’t like how I look, but it’s so easy to say that but hard to feel it.

Of course, only I can do something about it.

Happy anniversary to me

Friday, September 16th, 2005

Yeah, 9 months ago today was the day I met Joel. Will he remember? HA!

What a bad week this has been. Torrential rains yesterday, and we had to pick up my car from the stereo guy (5 friggin days to install a radio and speakers??) and bring it to the mechanic. This rude moron ignored me. I’m paying the bill, it’s MY car, yet he chose to look at Joel and talk to him and totally ignore me. What, women aren’t welcome in a male dominated world of garage mechanics??? How horrendously rude of him. I supposed if I were blonde with big hooters he’d have paid attention, but fat unattractive women don’t rate on him, even if they’re paying the bill.

I wasn’t in a good mood before that due to something Joel had said on Wednesday. Then I had to deal with the car stuff, then we went to a restaurant that was terrible. Yes, it was a BAD night.

Tonight I have my second laser appt, and I dread it. Oh yeah, it’s working a little and I like that. Emotionally, I’m dealing with it a lot better. Since Joel doesn’t like the hair there anymore, it doesn’t bother me one iota that I’m removing it. I’m dreading the pain. The first time I had it done, I didn’t know what to expect. Now I do, and know how much it’s going to hurt, but I try to think of the end result and the pain only lasts a brief time.

I’ve got a service tech coming in today so have to go put my house back in order. I don’t think he needs to see Joel’s shorts hanging off a dining room chair

Holiday weekeknd

Tuesday, September 6th, 2005

How was yours? Mine began badly and ended badly …. I got screwed out of yet another vacation. Long story, short version — Joel said we’d go away next weekend, next morning said he was going himself during the week.

I didn’t sleep much this weekend, so much on my mind. This car is costing me a LOT more than I was lead to believe it would, it seems every day something new has to be replaced. I finally got to drive it a little this weekend after Joel replaced the idler arm. I just wish I could drive it more but it will be at least a month until it’s mechanically sound enough to drive.

Something happened yesterday (too personal to discuss) that made me realize just how undesirable I am.

The laser still has not worked other than 4 hairs coming out. Seriously. $90 a hair, huh? At this rate it will cost me $35k to remove them all.

*smile*

I know it doesn’t always work the first time, so I go again next week and we’ll see if this works or not.

Well, the good news this weekend was a cruise night we went to last night with some amazing cars. I saw my first California Special in person, a pretty nice little pony car!

I had a nice hair sighting at a Dunkin Donuts, the girl behind the counter had sideburns and nice hairy arms

A good day

Monday, August 15th, 2005

Started out exceptional — got a great hug, then I found garage space for my pony for the winter. I told them I’d take it, but I’m sure Joel will want to go look at it to be sure it’s waterproof.

100 degrees this past weekend, this morning it’s 70, what a relief, though it’s still muggy as hell. This humidity is just unbelievable. My central a/c unit was on for hours and hours without stopping in between cycles, it rarely does that. I hate to look at my electric bills in the summer as they actually nearly triple.

I miss the snow.

Laser consultation

Sunday, August 14th, 2005

Yes, I went for my consultation and I have an appointment in a few weeks to have it done. It was a very hard decision to make, but it will make me happier in the long run, so I’m going for it. Joel will go to the first session or two, then I’m on my own.

The part that bothers me the most is they say it’s painful, and there is no getting around that unless you put on a $70 tube of numbing gel. Nice racket, eh?

I learned a lot though. Didn’t realize that PCOS women have a much harder time with it and have to go through many more sessions than “normal” hairy women, due to our hair growth.

I’ll need probably 8-12 sessions where “normal” women can get it done in 4-6. So, we’ll see.

On the pony front, the car is on the road. Drives fine, though I still need to rebuild the engine, the tranny and something else I forgot about. The brakes aren’t power so Joel got me a power booster and we’ll do the changeover next week. I took some pics of the underside so people can see just how rust free this car is and will post them on another site soon — and will give the URL to people who want to see.

Well, I did it!

Sunday, July 10th, 2005

I bought myself a 1996 Mustang!! We got back late last night, I was driving from 8 am on ……… long ride back with some sightseeing but it was worth the trip. It’s being delivered on Friday!

Here she is:
