Playing Catch Up

Tuesday, February 6th, 2007

Yep, that’s what I’m doing today, catching up on so many things. First, my “romance” is over before it got off the ground. He had absolutely no technical know-how and even getting an email from him was a major thing. We’re looking for different things, too. But, someone who isn’t into computers isn’t for me. My last few relationships were with guys with no technical knowledge. One could not even use a mouse correctly, and then there was the guy who decided he’d use the computer at an office where he was doing a job, and he got porn on the computer somehow but then could not figure out how to shut it down or get rid of it. He called me in a panic!

Dad is still hospitalized and they still have not isolated the source of the internal bleeding. He was supposed to have some test today but it didn’t happen, so maybe tomorrow.

Did a lot of work today including launching my poster store and my weight loss site. The latter still needs a tiny bit of tweaking but that’s for tomorrow.

Watching American Idol right now but so far it’s just boring with a lot of bad talent.

Ok, so, here is the car I’ll probably be purchasing, and you can click on it to see the full-sized version. I’ll be talking to my Pontiac guy tomorrow to see if it’s the right purchase for me, but it looks almost positive that it will be mine. My only issue is where to put it — 3 cars so far! This 4th would have to be garaged but it’s pretty hard to find a decent garage space for a reasonable price. Oh yeah, this would be a birthday gift for me. Another year older today, doo dah doo dah. Very uneventful, just another day, but I’m sure in a bit it will hit me pretty hard.

SNOW!!

Tuesday, January 30th, 2007

Yep, it’s snowing, but they say just 2″-4″ but it will be nice to see some snow for a change.

It was only 26 today but I saw 3 classic cars on the road. I could not believe it, since there is already some snow salt down, meaning you NEVER take a classic on the road. One was a Nova, probably ‘73, another one of those SS cars I can never distinguish, and the other a similiar one. The first SS was deep blue with black stripes and definitely fully restored with probably a 440 under the hood. Damn, it sounded good. Made me think of my newest acquisition which I can’t wait to get on the road! Still waiting for more pics of the Hurst GTO which is in storage.

Watching American Idol right now but I tell you, I hate these audition shows as they are full of talentless people who bore me. I actually prefer when they have the top 12 as it’s much more serious and enjoyable. I’m working while it’s on but when the top 12 shows start, I don’t work during them!

Went to Macy’s today to buy something and the clerk who waited on me had a very distinguishable mustache, which surprised me as they generally hire “perfect” looking women. Oh yeah, she was cute and thin but definitely had a fuzzy lip.

RED!!

Thursday, January 25th, 2007

Well, I’m now more of a redhead. It’s a warm red tone but it’s blended in with some warm brunette tones and I have to admit the color really looks good on me. Glad I got it done so I’ll feel a bit more confident when meeting someone new.

Uhm, yeah, someone new. Very new at this point, but he’s interested in me so we’ll see where it goes. He lives within 30 minutes of me and while he’s not a writer and obviously is uncomfortable writing, he’s doing it for me and I appreciate that. I told him I just want a guy who won’t lie to me, won’t steal from me, and will treat me right. I deserve it! He has to woo me, too. Hell, I don’t even care if he has a goatee or facial hair!

Still can’t find my year of manufacture plate — had no problem the other 2 times. I heard of a little antique store about 30 minutes from me where they have a section with over 1,000 old license plates. I’ll go there next week when it warms up. Tomorrow it’s going to be 15 degrees with a wind chill factor of 10 below 0. That is cold. I have to run my water at night so my pipes don’t freeze.

Watching some American Idol rejects on Larry King Live right now and Bucky Covington is on, and y’all remember how much I loved him. I’m not into blondes but he does something for me. Some of these rejects are so delusional it’s pathetic. But it’s a billion dollar phenomenon, isn’t it?

So glad I got all those broken sites fixed last night. Today I mostly backed them all up and just made sure they all worked.

I miss Yank Bird’s posts.

All Fixed

Thursday, January 25th, 2007

Went to bed with the site broken but woke up to a fix, so just fixed it! Special thanks to Baxter of Baxter’s Blog who tried like hell to figure out what was wrong!

Didn’t sleep well over it, plus am a littl nervous today as I’m trimming my hair and coloring it. Going a deeper shade of red, a little warmer red. This was too brunette for me and I wanted more red tones. So by tonight, when I write in this blog, I’ll be more of a redhead.

Watched a little bit of American Idol last night, not all of it, as I was trying to figure out what was wrong with so many blogs. No one really blew me away as an awesome singer, though it was sad to see some of them crying as they were told no. Some had so-so voices but think they are the next Mariah!

American Idol in Memphis

Tuesday, January 23rd, 2007

Well, I did watch the show tonight and have to say that out of the 3 they chose to go to Hollywood, 2 of them truly impressed me. The professional backup singer — something Doolittle — and Jason “Sundance” Head, with his god-awful semi-beard thingie. He had just an amazing voice (his dad was a professional recording artist) and I’m looking forward to seeing him in the finals. Oh yeah, the guy who looked like Castro/Jesus/Bin Laden was good but I don’t think he’ll make it to the top 12.

Did you see the woman who nearly fell out of her top? Made me shake my head!

DAMN it’s so cold

Thursday, January 18th, 2007

10 degrees last night! About 30 today with a cold, biting wind. I had to do the thing I hate most in life — go to the registry of motor vehicles. UGH. Registering an older car is so much more difficult as they question every line on your application and stare at you as if you’re trying to steal the Hope diamond. I did get it all done, though, and now need to find a year of manufacture plate.

No word from the court but I don’t expect to hear until at least Saturday.

Couple of new guys … seriously. Well, ok, one. One is married so he’s a no go. The other one is very local and seems like a nice guy, though I didn’t like his bragging about his oral sex prowess. Me and all my girlfriends readily admit that we’ve not had luck in that department. I just want to find a guy who not only will do the alphabet but who does it because he wants to and doesn’t make me ask. So, we’ll see. He’s insisting I call him after 1 email and that is a big no-no with me. Honestly, I’m not even sure I want a relationship. If I were smart I’d go for the married guy and just get some when I need it and not have to deal with the relationship bullshit.

Did you watch the first 2 nights of American Idol? I watched it last night but wish they’d have shown more talented people and not just the really bad singers. The first night was the day I went to court and I was so stressed over it, I crashed. Literally. Went to watch American Idol and began to watch it, then I looked up and it was 9:15. I fell asleep! So, I shut the television, didn’t even shut off the 3 computer monitors and just went to sleep.

Court, Cold and Stuff

Tuesday, January 16th, 2007

First, I went to court today and I don’t know if I won or not. This isn’t like the People’s Court … they don’t make the decision right there and then. The magistrate will mull it over and render a decision and mail it to us. So, it will be 4-5 days until I know. I felt I presented my case concisely and clearly and the magistrate didn’t question me much at all, but he did question the other side, who admitted they did wrong. So, we’ll see if I win and if so, what I get. It was nerve-wracking to say the least and I was shaking pretty badly by the time it was my turn. I had to sit for 90 minutes until they called my case so I had a lot of time to get nervous!

I get out of court, go to my car and check my cell phone to see 3 phone messages. 2 are from my alarm company telling me there is a problem and to call back, which I straightened out fast.

It’s cold today, about 25 degrees out right now with a biting wind. Going down to 11 tonight so I may keep the electric blanket on low during the night.

Tonight is the season premiere of American Idol and I’m looking forward to it. These are the auditions, when folks with little talent go for their 15 minutes of fame. It’s laughable and I call it the William Hung syndrome!

Frisky but my fingers are too cold to do much about it … maybe I’ll warm up soon. It’s cold, I only had a bowl of soup for lunch and a salad for dinner. I didn’t want to eat much for lunch before court and when I came home, was too tired and stressed to do more than throw a salad together.

Picture of the day feature still works and I added more photos tonight

HOT day

Monday, May 29th, 2006

Ugh ugh ugh. I thought they said in the 60’s today, so I dressed in a pair of leggings. Yeah, right. It was in the 80’s! My vehicle has a/c so it’s not that bad, as does my house, but I was still very warm. Then I went to the body shop to visit my car and see how it was doing (still there) and damn, it was so hot there. I don’t know how those guys work in such a hot environment. They had an awesome hot rod there, it looked like one of the ZZ Top cars, you know the ones used in the Legs video? This one was a burgundy color and had a few scratches but was still gorgeous. On the way up there I saw a 1969 Firebird, white with orange stripes and near the post office I saw a 1955 Chevy, turquoise and white.

I found the truck of my dreams. Y’all know I want a truck from the 50’s. It has original paint, a wooden bed, no rust, and is under two grand. Perfect for me. Oh, did I mention it’s in British Columbia??? Friggin’ Moose country!! I have garage space for it, too!! Guess I’ll just keep looking.

American Idol isn’t on tonight so millions of people are going through withdrawal. I saw Taylor Hicks on TV today and I really can’t wait for his album to come out as I will definitely buy it. I wanted to buy Bo Bice’s but so far the reviews aren’t that great, I prefer the Southern singing Bo does, not the pop rock crap.

American Idol …

Wednesday, May 24th, 2006

And, that’s all she wrote, folks … WOO!!!!!!!!!!! TAYLOR HICKS WON!!!!!!!!! Damn was I happy he won!! That boy deserved to win, he has real talent. And, to think Simon Cowell said NO to putting him through at the auditions!!!The guest stars were amazing, from Al Jarreau, Live, Dionne Warwick, Mary J Blige, Tony Braxton and the biggest surprise of all — Prince. What an ending to a great season.

On a sad note, Ian Copeland died. His brother was Stewart Copeland of The Police. He was the one who discovered the Average White Band out of Scotland

So You Think You Can Dance? is a show that is from the producers of American Idol, it’s the same as AI only with dancers. I saw it last season and loved it and it premieres tomorrow. Don’t miss it, you get to see some amazing dancing but the auditions are hysterical when people literally fall flat on their faces!

American Idol Finale, 2006

Tuesday, May 23rd, 2006

Well, tonight was it, the last show before they choose the American Idol for 2006. Who do I want to win? Taylor Hicks, my choice from the beginning. Who do I think will win after tonight?

Song 1 went to Taylor
Song 2 went to Katherine
Song 3 went to Taylor

I think Taylor did best tonight and my heart hopes he wins. But, I think it will be very, very, very close. Commercially I think Taylor will do better.

Was nice seeing sexy Bucky in the audience and Chris, too!

Saw the commercial for the new Mustang GT during AI and I realized I hadn’t mentioned that Ford is suing people who use “Mustang” in their business name including websites. I can’t tell you how many businesses have been selling Mustang and Shelby parts for 30+ years, and now all of a sudden Ford has a bug up their ass and is suing people. If you own a trademark, you can’t wait forever to enforce it. If you don’t enforce your trademarks, you can lose them. The fact that Ford stopped making Mustang parts all those years ago was the reason all these people began selling them. It will be interesting to see how it plays out and if it goes to court or not.

Did I mention the hot guy I saw yesterday at the hospital? They were doing some sort of testing of the fire alarm system so he kept going back and forth. He must have been 6′2″ or 6″3″, dark hair and a gorgeous goatee. Jeans and a T-shirt rounded out this hottie. I saw him about 6 times and I have to admit to being pretty frisky last night thinking about that goatee, the height, etc. I’ve never dated anyone who was tall. All the guys I’ve dated have been average in “many” ways but height-wise they’ve been 5′9″ to 5′10″ or so. I think someone 6′6″ would scare me but 6′2″ would be nice. Ah, to dream the impossible dream.

American Idol is down to the final 2

Thursday, May 18th, 2006

Well, Elliot was voted off. 50 million votes came in, that’s more than the presidential election. That’s misleading, though, because you can vote thousands of times for American Idol but only once in an election.

Tough day today, had to take mom for a mammogram as her last one showed a potential problem. Today’s did not clear that up and I have to take her for a needle biopsy next week. She’s had breast cancer twice in her life so this is not a happy time for me.

Having one hell of a discussion on pubic hair on a board and they are still saying that shaved women do not look like preteens. They just don’t get it, I tried to explain that shaved genitalia resemble that of a preteen, it’s not the overall look, it’s that one specific area.

I am sick of the rain

Tuesday, May 16th, 2006

Damn, did it pour today. I got drenched going to the post office, then drenched going to the store. Many of the roads were flooded and the water was halfway up the tires or more. When I went over the bridge they closed off one lane on the road as it was flooded so badly.

Had an odd moment today. Was having my car alarm guy do his thing and was chatting with him about his ex-wife and his son, whom he now has custody. He’s telling me these stories, pauses, and says, “hey, you went red!” and it shocked me that a guy would notice a hair color change, especiallyi since I haven’t seen him since September!

American Idol’s final 3 performed tonight. My favorite is still Taylor and if I were to vote, it would be for him. Honestly, all 3 tonight had good performances as well as bad ones. To me, Katherine had one good one and 2 bad ones …. Elliot had 2 good ones and 1 bad one, and Taylor had 2 good ones and one that was great. Tomorrow one more is voted off and then next week will be the final 2 and then the final show of the 5th season.

Having a disagreement on female pubic hair and it’s amazing the comments I read. Here are just a few:

Personally, I think shaved pussies look like underage pussies. If you like your women to look like they’re 14, well… it’s a good thing I don’t have a daughter and you don’t live nearby, LOL” (From a female)

mostly galleries with Pubic hair are asians sites.” (Yeah, tons of hairy Asian chicks around *snort*)

there is nothing worse than a woman who Goes “Natural”….esp hair that growns from her` asshole to her navel and top it off with armpit hair………

I dont mind “some” hair down there, but a lot of hair is different …. then “Gotta agree. We don’t live in caves anymore

And, my own comment ….

“I‘m sure that the guys who complain the most — well, the closest they have ever been to a hairy pussy is their neighbor’s cat.”

Laser night

Thursday, May 11th, 2006

Today began dreary. Went to the chiropractor and it was drizzling, cold and raw and about 40 degrees. By the time I went out around 12:30 pm it was no longer raining and within an hour it was 60 degrees, sunny and humid. You have to love New England weather.

Had my 8th laser appointment tonight and it wasn’t that bad. Hurt in a few spots but I guess my skin is getting used to it. As I was waiting another woman came in and she had fur on her forearms. I haven’t seen such hairy forearms in a very long time. She had an appointment with the girl who does the laser, but I’m not sure if she was having a facial hair removed, pubic hair removed or what. I didn’t want to ask my laser girl what she was doing on that woman but I sure was curious.

I would imagine a lot of hairy women go to various laser centers for work, but I’m also sure many of them who are very hairy may not have visible signs of their body fur.

Well, the manager of Great White got 4 years in jail but is eligible for parole in 16 months. Some of the relatives think he should have gotten life, others think the sentence was too harsh. I thought 2 years would have been sufficient, but then again I didn’t lose a relative in that fire, just friends. The real culprits, the owners of the club, go on trial shortly.

Still reeling over Chris being voted off of American Idol. It was THE talk of every talk show today, everywhere you went people were commenting on it. I heard an interview and Chris said that most likely were so sure he’d be in the top 2 that they stopped voting, and that did him in. I admit I have never voted for anyone, though I wish I had voted for Chris on Tuesday night. My pick for the winner now is Taylor Hicks, the grey-haired dude with the soulful voice. He’s Ray Charles, Michael McDonald and Joe Cocker rolled into one.

ICANN Board Votes Against .XXX Sponsored Top Level Domain Agreement

10 May 2006

Marina del Rey, California, 10 May 2006: Today, ICANN’s Board of Directors voted against a proposed agreement for a .XXX. Sponsored Top Level Domain (sTLD). The application was proposed by the ICM Registry.

The application has received much public comment and detailed discussion by the ICANN Board. Reflecting the diversity of views this application has generated, the Board discussion at today’s meeting focused on the criteria for the sTLD, especially for sponsorship, and the terms of the contract proposed by ICM, including compliance issues related to key terms associated with public policy concerns. ICM had proposed additional terms in response to issues raised by ICANN’s Governmental Advisory Committee, particularly at ICANN’s meeting in Wellington in March.

THANK GOODNESS. Otherwise you may have lost half the hairy women sites on the Internet.

I’m in shock and my jaw dropped tonight, Chris was voted off of American Idol. He was in shock, too, absolute shock. It was SO unexpected, especially since Katherine sucked so badly last night. He’ll have a great career as a rock singer with a heavy metal band but damn, it broke my heart to see him voted off.

Finally, Kellie is gone

Wednesday, April 26th, 2006

They voted her off American Idol tonight, thankfully. No more dumb blonde Daisy Mae to pick on! They had a few close-ups of Paris’ facial hair, too. Today was a great day made better by her departure!

Did I mention I saw a gorgeous black 1966 Mustang yesterday, headed to the local college? If I weren’t going in the opposite direction I’d have followed him!

Still can’t get that script thing to work right. I may upgrade this site tomrrow with new software, we’ll see. If it happens it will be tomorrow night as I’ll be gone tomrrow during the day.

You know, it’s ironic how our roles become reversed. When I was younger and my toilet had a problem, I’d simply call my father. When I first moved out on my own I was 22 I think, and moved into one of the houses my parents owned. So, instead of a plumber, I’d call dad. I remember one Sunday morning at 8 am waking up and the toilet broke, and I called him and he came right over before he even had breakfast.

For years I’d call him for help with electronics. He’d tell me which input went where, etc, as it would confuse me.

Now, it’s reversed. Mom called me yesterday and asked if I could come over and help dad, he bought a new TV and could not set the clock so he could not use the VCR portion of it. I went over and with one click fixed it, it was so simple. It’s so sad to think that for so many years he knew all of this, and now he has to call and ask for help.

I can’t say no, and even if I’m in the middle of something, I’ll drop it all to take one of them to the store, doctor, etc. You gotta remember how many years they shlepped me everywhere, from the movies, bowling, friend’s houses, etc, without much complaint.

All of a sudden you find you’re the caregiver and you’re no longer a child.

Hump Day!

Tuesday, April 25th, 2006

How’s your hump day? I’ve been working on a script for a few hours and still have some error I can’t figure out. I’ll keep at it until it works, that’s for sure.

Called a dermatologist about my thumb, the doctor is booking patients for September and the nurse practitioner for July. Uh, I don’t think so. So I ended up calling one out of town, about 20 minutes away, to see a real doctor and go next week.

American Idol was pretty good last night, my pick for the loser is Kellie, she was absolutely horrible. I’m looking forward to seeing Andrea Bocelli tonight. I’m surprised more of you guys don’t watch it, Paris is a very hairy woman with a ton of facial hair. They really zoomed in close on her sideburns last night.

Time to retire the electric blanket for the season. The weather has been so nice and warm and I think I can finally say winter is gone. It was pretty mild with just a few small snow storms. I liked being able to keep my house colder this winter since I was living alone, though the heating bills were still outrageous. If they don’t screw you in the winter with $3 a gallon for heating oil they screw you in the summer with high electric bills.

I saw one gas station that has regular for $3.02 yesterday and it just keeps going up. Bush says he will do something but I’ll believe that when I see it.

Buh bye Kevin!

Saturday, April 22nd, 2006

As I predicted, Kevin was voted off American Idol last night. Kelly is beginning to get on my nerves. Her dumb blonde Daisy Mae was cute at first. When Simon called her a minx and she said “why am I a mink” it was cute, but last night she asked why he thought she was a coat. She doesn’t even know a mink is an animal. When he said her performance was “ballsy and sexy” she actually said “what is a ballsy”. That’s enough cutesy poo for me.

Poor Lisa, who has so much talent, was in the bottom 3 again. I think she is choosing the wrong songs.

Today I should finally get the bad hard drive replaced so hopefully tonight I can restore the backup. If not I’ll spend the weekend manually installing one program at a time. Had to move the time down as I have to take dad to a doctor appt. today, a last minute thing for me. Once I get that machine back I’ll be much more productive. I just can’t do as much on this machine since I don’t have all the files/programs I need, plus I’m not as comfortable working at this machine. I just hope that system backup restore works.

Just realized that one week from today I go for my 7th laser treatment. The weather is finally warming up to the 50’s so I won’t freeze going in at night. Can’t wait for some warmer weather. This is the first year that the cold is really bothering me and I’m sure it’s my age. A few years ago I don’t remember it bothering me as much, but maybe the house was warmer or my metabolism was different.

I played hooky!

Tuesday, April 18th, 2006

Well, just for a few hours, but I’d been working on this new CMS script for a cam site that should be done soon and I was frustrated. I ate lunch but felt like I was going to scream, so decided to get the hell out of the house for a while. I’d already updated Hair To Stay, the food blog, Pam’s Reviews and had done some meta tag research for my new cam site. Usually I go to the beach but I ended up in the other direction and found myself in the back woods of North Dartmouth. I think I was going through missing my car because I ended up at this area I’d been to before that has a Mustang, same year and color as mine, only it’s a convertible with a white ragtop.

Drove around for a while and saw about 20 classic cars including a Chevelle, Cougar that had been restored, and lots of old trucks.

Watched American Idol tonight and I went into the performancs in-depth on the coffee blog, but my vote for the bottom 3 tonight is Ace, Kelly and Katherine with Kelly going home. Even she admitted she butchered the song. Did you notice how hairy Paris is?

Have a doctor appt. on Thursday, I’ve cancelled this 3 times already, it’s with the 3rd surgeon I’m supposed to see. The first wants me to have surgery on my neck. The chiropractor is helping but it’s only temporary. The 2nd agreed that I should not have surgery and should seek alternative methods. Hell, I just don’t want to spend $30k on surgery that may not fix the problem, ya know? I feel like I’ve already spent way too much on tests, and it’s embarassing as hell to have them see the hair in places it shouldn’t be. I’m not sure if I’ll keep this appointment, I guess I’ll know more tomorrow since if I plan to cancel I have to do it tomorrow. I think if I ever see part of my exhaust system on my car I’m going to kick the hell out of it for doing this to me.

Had a weird dream again last night, my ex and I were sleeping in a car at the beach, not touching, and when I looked out the window I saw we were at the beach and saw my favorite house there, but it’s my chiropractor’s house, and she isn’t near the beach. I saw the taffy stand I used to go to as a kid but it’s not at the beach near here nor near my chiropractor …. I need to analyze this one in my dream book, that’s for sure.

How was the weekend?

Sunday, April 16th, 2006

Today is a holiday in Massachusetts so it’s going to be quiet. My weekend was good. Did some work, watched Crash finally. I really had no idea what the movie was about, just that it won some Academy awards. While it was good and intense and I will watch it again soon, I don’t know if I agree that the actors deserved nominations for Oscars. I think Brokeback Mountain was a better movie in both the acting and directing. Crash will surely make you think about your own prejudices, some you’re not even aware of. And while I’d never seen Ludicris other than hearing about his lyrics, he was a pretty good actor.

Just saw Bucky from American Idol on Regis and Kelly and he did Superstition, one of my favorite songs he sang on AI. I think he’ll do ok in the future.

Have you watched The Next Food Network Star? It’s similar to American Idol but it’s for cooking. Last night Nathan was eliminated to my shock, as I thought he was going to win. He was good looking, personable and had cooking skills. Of the 3 finalists — Carissa, Guy and Reggie — I’d like to see Reggie win but I think it will come down to Carissa and Guy with Carissa winning it all. Guy is the best cook, has the best personality and does the best on camera, but he’s too energetic and frenetic — picture Emeril on speed. Carissa thinks she’s all that and a bag of chips and I don’t like her attitude. Reggie is friendly, personable and cooks well and has a great sense of humor, but I don’t think America will accept a fat black man as a chef. Sorry, that’s America, not me.

I updated Hair To Stay somewhat last night, adding a new site and removing a few old ones I was promoting. I also added several new sites to my iPod porn store. I’m trying to find out if they plan to put my own movies into that format.

Blech - Bucky Covington is gone

Wednesday, April 12th, 2006

Damn, I’m disappointed. I liked him a lot, he was very sexy to me for some reason, and I don’t go for blondes. Maybe it was the facial hair, the nervous tic, the earrings, that long flowing blonde hair shaved in back … but I’ll miss him.

My absence

Wednesday, March 29th, 2006

Sorry, but I’ve been very, very ill. I’m not even supposed to be on the computer yet. I had some unexpected, unnecessary stress that pushed my blood pressure so high up I could have stroked out, and it pushed my blood sugar way up as well. I’ve been doing nothing. Literally. I read, I watch TV, I rest and avoid stress. I hadn’t eaten for days, hadn’t slept, and am now catching up with things. Working was stressing me out so I avoided my computers. I stopped worrying about the cracked sink, clogged bathtub, broken this or that. In time it will get taken care of, right now I matter more than anything. Monday I have a doctor appointment and I’ll know more then on how I’m really doing.

My drive had been dead for a few weeks, what’s another one? So my sites aren’t updated? I’ll make a lot less money for a few weeks but will survive. Y’all will survive without updated sites. Sorry but I’m being very selfish this time and thinking only of me and my health needs, where generally I ignore things like this and keep working.

I’m hoping by the weekend to get back to normal. I’m doing a “little” work today, mostly catching up on email for a little bit. I had someone answering all help desk inquiries.

Thanks for all the emails, PMs and calls. Sorry I didn’t return anything but give me time to catch up please.

Folks are still sick, dad’s BP was 80/40 when I took him to the doctor last Friday, and his heart rate is 45. Yes, he’s half dead and it’s so sad. Mom is going downhill, I need to take her for an MRI next week and she may require surgery due to a vascular problem.

Saw American Idol last night and my vote for the bottom 2 is Lisa and Bucky though Ace and Kelly are right up there. No one impressed me last night at all, they all do lousy when they choose their own song, and it’s been that way each year.

Next week I’ll get back to writing in the “coffee” blog, I know I haven’t updated it once in the past week, and I have a lot to say.

W O W

Tuesday, March 21st, 2006

Did you see the season finale of The Shield? I was glued to the TV! I did expect Lem to die, because I knew 2 major characters were being written out, though I wasn’t sure which it would be. Kavanaugh leaving was a given. I just knew Vic was the father of Danny’s baby!

Watched nearly all of American Idol, too. I only missed Lisa Tucker as I was looking for a cancelled check for my rear end/carb/tranny rebuild, which I found. Barry Manilow worked with the singers and gave advice and it worked as most did a great job. I thought Mandisa was the best, and thought Kevin Covais and Bucky Covington — again — were the worst. Tonight we’ll see who is voted off and I predict the bottom 3 being Lisa Tucker, Bucky and Kevin, with Bucky being voted off. Kevin has very little talent but he’s like John Stevens of a few seasons ago, he has the little girl audience that carries him through.

Human nature is an amazing thing. I don’t see why people would rather rant and rave in a drunken stupor (stupid being the base of that word) instead of talking like a human being. I haven’t liked people who drink since I was 14. I was staying over a friend’s house and her father, a fisherman, came home around midnight. He was about 6′4″, a big strapping Swede. He came in yelling because he was very drunk, and actually punched his fist through a wall. I’d never, ever seen anyone who was drunk, so it scared the crap out of me. My friend stood up to him, told him off and told him he was scaring me, then her mother came out, apologized, and took him in the bedroom. I didn’t sleep much and when I told my mom the next day, she said in the future to never stay in a situation like that and call her immediately. I learned a valuable lesson at a young age about how unreasonable, abusive and disturbing people who drink can be.

Funny thing is I grew up with a full bar in the house, but neither of my parents drank and we never really had people over. My mother still laments the fact she kept that full bar and all she ended up doing was dusting everything each week for no reason. It was all for decoration I guess. My grandparents never drank nor did any relatives we had over. I had my first sip of beer at age 16 or so and it was so vile that to this day, the very smell of beer turns my stomach.

Brrrr!

Spring! It’s FREEZING out! I ran to the post office today and froze my ass off! It is cold, windy and just really yucky. Big storm in the midwest which I surely hope doesn’t end up here. The sun is out, though, and I’m seeing more and more older cars out for a ride. There is a really nice blue Nova one town over and I see it parked in a lot, as if the person works nearby. The lot is at an empty building so it’s odd. If I can remember to bring my camera to that area next time I go I’ll grab a pic. Saw a really nice old VW bug this morning and last week saw some nice sightings as well.

Tonight is the season finale of The Shield, a 90 minute episode. I am SO psyched to watch it! I know there are 2 major characters being written out but I am not positive who it will be though I’m speculating a lot! American Idol is also on and I can work when it’s on. I’d like to work on my eBook if possible tonight. I have a few other projects I’m working on so we’ll see what happens.

I figureed if I was going to stay up so late I’d better take a nap, so took a small one this afternoon. I didn’t sleep well last night, or rather could not fall asleep for a while. I think they may not have given me decaf because otherwise I can’t figure it out — I always drop off very fast.

Right now I want to go grocery shopping and grab an iced coffee but it’s so cold I’m putting it off!

Noticed gas was up to $2.45 at one station today — disgusting, isn’t it?

Should have a relaunch of an old site soon to show y’all plus some other stuff I”m redoing. I’m sticking to my resolutions this year and not putting up new sites and am instead just redoing old ones.

So, I was wrong :)

I wasn’t surprised Melissa was voted off as she and Melissa are those I don’t even think about. They are bland and nothing stands out about them at all.

I was surprised Lisa was in the bottom 3 but then again, Fantasia was in the bottom 3 at one time, too.

Bucky slid through, not sure what it is about him, maybe it’s his height, facial hair or good looks, but he just does something for me. I don’t really find myself attracted to blondes, but something about that gorgeous long flowing blonde hair, shaved in the back, is just sexy as all hell. The facial hair ain’t bad, either lol.

Better day!

First, my American Idol prediction — either Bucky Covington or Kevin Covais will be voted off tonight. Good show last night, very long though.

Taxes mailed, all paid for the next year. Had to cancel the computer guy for tomorrow as I have another doctor appt. And, the sink guy may cancel as they may not have it ready to install at the same time their plumber can show up. So that was a bummer but it will work out. I just need to know before I clean out everything under my kitchen sink!

They had to change the date of my next laser appointment so it’s 3 weeks from tomorrow night.

Cold as HELL today, very windy and raw, 30 mph gusts. I was working out to Sweatin’ To The Oldies and could feel the rawness through the windows.

Well …

I did watch American Idol and am not very surprised at what I saw. I agreed with the 2 women who were cut, as I never liked Kinnik or Ayla very much. On the male side, Will was ok but nothing special so I agree, but Gedeon sang his ass off last night and I thought he’d continue on.

Tonight I’m craving Chinese food, so I think tomorrow I’m going to grab some takeout for dinner, something I haven’t done in months and months. Of course, I’d love to be reading some Chinese takeout menus while eating my Chinese dinner (hint hint hint).

American Idol, etc

First, Eddie, here are the $12 flowers! The tulips were on sale for half price, and this store does the arrangement at no cost if you buy the flowers there. When I went to check out they had a 40% off coupon, so my $40 pot of tulips ended up costing me $12 and change. The pot is just a clay pot but they put red paper around it, a type of wrapping paper. It goes really well in the corner next to the TV, against the cranberry carpeting.

I got nice and comfy on my couch last night at 8 PM. Cuddled up with a thick afghan and watched the first 2 performances, that were just ok. During the commercial I went to check email and never went back. Sat here and worked, lots of hairy chat posts, so I just watched it here. I thought Chris Daugherty was just ok, not as good as usual. Taylor Hicks rocked as always.

You know, Paula Abdul doesn’t do the contestants much when all she does is compliment them on their style of dress. How many times have her only comments been “you look so elegant, you have a unique style of dress” instead of on the performance? Simon really does hear what I hear and most often I agree with his comments.

It’s going to be in the high 40’s today, 50’s tomorrow, and could hit 65 by Monday. It will be warmer outside than in my house! $508 for heat for the past month and I’m freezing my furry ass off!

Then on Friday I drove by a self-serve gas station and it was $2.06 a gallon, so I thought the prices have come down and this week I’d get gas and maybe it would be under two bucks a gallon. Monday I went by the same station and it was $2.25 a gallon. I thought I was seeing things. WHY the hell did it jump nearly 10% in 2 days? So, I went to get gas at another station and it was $2.27 a gallon. Tuesday I went by the station and it was down to $2.17. Someone is playing serious games with gas prices all of a sudden.
