Another one bites the dust

Well, the guy who was interested is history, and I’m not broken up over it. He asked if I was still interested and, since I don’t lie, told him I lost a lot of interest when he asked for pics that resembled my hairiness, plus he only asked about the hair and sex — never anything else. I’m much more than hair. So, he wrote back, said he was sorry and wished me good luck.

It’s his loss.

Got laser tonight which I nearly forgot about but fortunately they called to remind me. I believe I last went in December so it’s been a while, but I don’t really need it other than one small spot. I’m looking forward to having it done!

In case he reads it, THANK YOU to the man who called to place an order today and told me the Hairy Videos site still had issues. If he had not told me, it would still be fubar

You’re right - it’s definitely his loss!

I’ve got laser on Sunday (yeah summer hours… not that it’s actually summer here… or spring for that matter). I always hate going but I’m always glad I did once it’s over. And is it me or do the women that work in those places always look like they walked off a Cosmo ad?

I went and it was simple — wasn’t even red afterwards, and it’s been what, 5 months since my last treatment? I’ll go again around Thanksgiving.

Some of the women at this spa are just too thin and too pretty! The woman who does my laser, though, is a little chubby and really down to earth and fun. I am not embarrassed at all having her do me, so to speak.

What type of laser do you have? They use the Lyra laser for me

You know what? I honestly don’t know. I realize that’s awful. I’ve been getting laser done on the face on and off for 10 years. Having moved around so much I’ve gone from place to place, laser to laser so I can never keep track. I’ve got about a year left on my contract and once that’s over I’ll probably look around and do some searching. I don’t have my car anymore and the place I go to is like 2 hours away for me, but since it’s their only location accessible by the MBTA I don’t have much of a choice.

Is it a dry laser? For me they rub this icky goop on my face first. YankBird had it done dry which I’d never heard of, but maybe it’s done differently in England.

What type of contract? Mine was 5 sessions at $400 each with the 6th free, then $100 for each touch-up but I can quit at any time.

I’m closer than 2 hours to you, you can always come down to my spa and then hang out with me

A dry laser? Wow. I’ve never heard of that. Like you I’ve got that lovely goopy stuff that sticks everywhere. Only at one laser place did they not use the goopy stuff. Twenty minutes before your appointment you put this numbing creme on your face and then when you arrived they take it off. It actually worked in the sense that you really couldn’t feel anything. But I’m so used to the goopy stuff it really doesn’t matter to me.

I can’t remember exactly how much I paid because I originally signed up like a year and half ago (I want to say it was $2000, which I’ll be paying off for the next 20 years). It was through one of the chains . You pay this flat rate and after like your 6th or 7th treatment - it turns into their two year guarantee. Meaning any time within the next two years there’s hair growth - I come back. Since I move so much it was the perfect fit because they have locations everywhere and w/ the PCOS the hair growth doesn’t just dissapear after 6 sessions.

So yours is really a spa? That sounds fun and relaxing. I might just have to check that out.

If YankBird wasn’t travelling I’m sure she’d post about the dry laser. It was either here or hairychat she talked about it but I can’t imagine the laser on dry skin. Emla is the numbing creme, right? They offered me a prescription for it but it was something like put it on for 2 hours before, wrap your face in plastic, then remove it and come in without makeup on. Uh, I don’t think so!

I don’t mind the $100 per treatment now as I can see it will be 2/3 times a year at most. Last year I was going every 2 months or so, it was like a crutch and I was afraid not to go. But now I see I really don’t need it so often. I should know in a few days how this one took. I still have some pretty thick dark hairs in the upper lip area. Not sure why that area is so difficult.

Yes, mine is a real spa with a real website, too. They do facials, hair work, nails, massages, makeup, laser, waxing, you name it. It’s right off the highway, too!

You mentioned all the girls looking like Cosmo models. One time I was telling my tech that it was embarrassing walking out and they knew what I had done, but she said, “you’d not believe what some of them have done!” and apparently some are pretty furry, too!
