Another day from hell

It began with bad weather. We had 20-40 mph winds with heavy rainfall, in fact we had 2.5 inches of rain in an hour. Imagine driving through torrential rain with the streets flooded. I began that way when going to the nail salon, and it wasn’t better when I left. Came home and made some soup and decided to just stay home until it stopped raining, even though I needed groceries. I checked my cell phone and it was dead. D.O.A. Would not turn on, recharger would not turn it on, it was d e a d. It had been giving me issues over the past few months by shutting off by itself, so I figured the battery croaked.

I really REALLY didn’t want to go out but the weather let up some so I went to the phone store and they could not turn it on with a new battery, but when she put it in the recharger, it came on. So, I buy a new battery for $50. Great, all fixed. Go grocery shopping, come home drenched and am just glad to be home and dry.

Plug the phone into the recharger to charge the new battery and it’s dead. AGAIN. So now I’m dreading going out again, but do I have a choice? SO, out I shlep in the rain to the phone store again, return the battery and buy a new phone. I really didn’t want to spend time looking at phones, but the first one I saw I liked, and asked the price. She says it’s “very expensive” so I’m thinking it’s one of those $800 phones, right? She tells me it’s $279. Sorry, but that’s not that much. I look around for one without a camera but can’t find it, so ended up with a CU400 phone. I haven’t really learned much on it, will read later, but it’s a flip phone that’s lightweight with larger buttons than my other phone, which I loved. Has a lot of features I’ll never use, of course. I remember the cell phone I had with video capabilities which was cool but it weighed a ton.

So, by now my day from hell has cost me $250 plus tax for the phone and I figured what the heck, I haven’t eaten out much, I need Chinese food. Garlic chicken with mushrooms, extra spicy please. It was incredibly delicious, too. I hadn’t been to this restaurant in months and now realize how much I miss it. They give you a “free gift” each time you get takeout — I got a free fried chicken leg! My garbage pail enjoyed it!

So now I’m home and dry for the weekend, but I pinched the nerve in my upper neck again today, so back to the chiropractor a few times a week until it’s better. Not sure how I did it but think it was lifting the heavy bag of groceries out of the carriage.

No calls from mom about dad so I assume all is going well. I hope it stays that way on the weekend. Y’all have plans? I do. I plan to watch The Departed, the Hi-Def DVD I got this week. I need to do a full and total video and DVD inventory, plus books as well. That can take hours but I don’t have to rush. Then I can update the hairyvideos website since I haven’t kept up with it in a while.

Got to work on the new sites … more on those later. Just some feeder sites since I don’t plan any “NEW” sites, Summer! Doing more and more mainstream feeder sites that are working out well.

If you had your phone for over 2 years or your contact has expired. What you should have done was cacelled with that company and go to another one and get a free phone.
If you were with the company for a long time. Ask time for a free upgrade. They do this around here.

Did you get a Hi-Def dvd player to go with your Hd tv??

    have a good one.
I’ll give you a little neck rub.

I could have had this phone for $10 if I signed a two-year contract, but I don’t want to be locked into another contract. Now I know I can take my phones anywhere else, though they all charge the same price and all have the same service.

I have a regular DVD player, even though I paid a premium price for it as I was told it was HD compatible …
